The text in Minecraft game can be customized and formatted according to the user preference. This can be done with the section (§)sign, which is entered into signs, world names, chat, etc. These codes are called formatting codes and color codes. The § sign is then followed by a character. When the § sign is followed by a hexadecimal number, it instructs the client to switch colors while the text is shown. This § sign in inserted in text input in Bedrock edition. Whereas in Java edition, the § is used in server.properties, pack.mcmeta, server names, world titles, etc.
