Microsoft gave Windows Store a touch of freshness with a new look. The latest version of the operating system Windows 8.1 Update 1 was launched officially on April of this year and about a month afyer this Windows Store got its update. The new look makes app searching and download much more fluent and easy. Microsoft posted about this update in a post on the Windows Experience blog.
A quick view on the changes as listed from Microsoft’s blog are
1. Persistent navigation bar with Top charts, Categories and Collections.
The most remarkable feature added is the navigation bar. The bar comes with categories, top charts and collection. MICROSOFT writes:
” Navigating the Windows Store previously required a finger-swipe or right-click. Now, the navigation bar persists on top of the Store for intuitive, fast access. But that doesn’t mean it’s cluttered. Customer feedback tells us that most people want to quickly see the chart-toppers, search by the top categories they’re interested in, or browse our curated Collections. Because of this, the navigation bar is now focused on to Top charts, Categories, and Collections. You can still quickly access your Account information.”
2. Collections on the Store landing page.
This page will help you discover apps according to your choice in a much easier manner.
3. Multiple Featured titles at your fingertips (or mouse pointer).
Some of the best apps that are suggested to the users are assembled and listed together right on the Store landing page, and also on the Category pages.
4. Get once & download on compatible Windows devices
This is another good feature where you can purchase an app and download the app in all your Windows compatible devices. Thus feature is awesome and it extends your flexibility to a large extent.
Those who have updated their OS to Windows 8.1 Update, Windows Store refresh would appear soon in Windows Update. Other users should receive it automatically.
