Whenever you upgrade your device, you might encounter problems with certain functionalities. One of the most common problems after upgrading to Windows 10 has been the functioning of Bluetooth. For so many people, different Bluetooth devices would totally refuse to connect with the computer that has been updated to Windows 10. Here are few ways that can help you connect your device to your laptop or desktop that has been upgraded to Windows 10.

Check if the Bluetooth is on

While this is an obvious thing, most people forget to turn on the Bluetooth on their device or the system. If you ask how to turn on Bluetooth windows 10, you can do so by going to the settings bar. Another way to turn on Bluetooth is by typing Bluetooth in the search bar. This will take you to the settings of Bluetooth where you can turn it on.

Find out if your device is compatible

If your Bluetooth device is really old (10 years and older), there are chances that it wouldn’t be compatible with the Windows 10. Older devices are not configured to be compatible with such advanced upgradation. The only solution you have, if this is the case is that you either update the hardware or replace your Bluetooth device with a new one that is compatible with Windows 10.

Check if there’s some virus

A lot of times, viruses and malware cause Bluetooth related issues on Windows 10. The viruses might hinder the detection of your device. For this, you can switch on the safe mode on your system. This will get rid of the programs and softwares that have been causing any troubles. If not safe n=mode, you can use a trustworthy antivirus software.

Make sure you have enabled Bluetooth support service

When you upgrade to Windows 10, there are chances that the Bluetooth support service get disabled. You can always check if it is disabled by first pressing Win+R and then double clicking the Bluetooth support service in the dialogue box. Now in the general option, choose automatic in the startup type.

Make it a point to update your Bluetooth driver

If you have upgraded to a newer version of Windows for the first time, you should know that there are a number of drivers that you need to update. One such driver is the Bluetooth driver. If, by any chance you wouldn’t have updated the Bluetooth driver, your system might be able to detect any of the Bluetooth devices.

Consider system restore

The last resort to your system not being able to detect your Bluetooth device would be restoring the system. When you restore the system, you system comes back to the state where the Bluetooth starts functioning. You can type “create a restore point” in the search bar. Now, in the system protection tab from the system properties, select create. After typing the description, select create and press ok. When you do this, you have a system restore point and your Bluetooth would start functioning again.
