Usually we relate the name Honor with smartphones and mobiles. But now we can relate the name with computers and PCs. Chinese manufacturer Honor is bringing the new MagicBook laptop that comes with some freaking amazing specifications. To surprise its users, it is bringing a fingerprint scanner as a separate entity in the laptop for an extra layer of security. The laptop is stylish and sleek and takes after Apple’s Macbooks in terms of looks and design. The appearance of the MagicBooks are regal and the fingerprint scanner adds to the beauty. The device is slim and has a thickness of 15.8 mm owing to its super thin aluminium chassis.
Now coming to device specifications, the MagicBook comes with a 14-inch matte 1080p IPS LCD panel with a 800:1 contrast and 250 nits of brightness. There are two variants available, one that offers i5-8250u processor, while the other offers a i7-8550u processor. Both the variants have a RAM of 8GB and on-board storage of 256 GB SATA SSD. The Graphics are powered by Nvidia’s MX150 dGPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory.
MagicBook brings a great battery of 57.4 Wh capacity that can provide service of up to 12 hours on a single charge. The laptop is charged via the USB Type C port that is built into the laptop. The device weighs 1.47 kg. MagicBook has one USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 Type A port, HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone jack that can be used for input and output. In addition to this, the sound experience of MagicBook will be enhanced by the four inbuilt speakers powered by Dolby Atmos.
As mentioned earlier, an added layer of security can be enjoyed by MagicBook users, thanks to the unit’s fingerprint reader. The price of the device for the Chinese market is ¥4,999 for the i5 model and ¥5,699 for the i7 model. Unfortunately, it is not yet known if the device will be launched globally and if so, what can be the expected time of launch.
