Here’s how you can restore the Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10

Windows Photo Viewer is disabled by default in Windows 10. You can not change the default photo viewer from Photos app to Windows Photo Viewer so easily. You need some tweaks of registry to do this.

Steps to get back Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10

1. First open Notepad and then copy and paste the following text:

Now save the file with the extension as .reg instead of .txt

2. Now right click on the reg file and click on Merge.

3. Next it will give you a warning. Click Yes to continue.

4. Now the keys and values will be added to your computer’s registry.

5. Now right click on an image and then Look for more apps, select Windows Photo Viewer. Check the option Always use this app to open .jpg files. You can do the same for png snd other image files also.
