Windows 11 Build 26052 deletes important data

Running Windows Preview Build on a primary device is never a good idea. If you do so, then you are risking the integrity and data of your device. Microsoft has issued a warning about the recently shipped Preview Build 26052. The build has encountered a severe bug which is responsible for wiping out a lot of your device data. The data loss is actually happening if the user is trying to roll back to any previous build, then he or she may lose important data from the Windows device. So, back up your data in case you have this Build on your device.

This news was confirmed by Microsoft in a post on X (formerly Twitter)

Many users already lost important data before Microsoft issued the update. Besides the instability with Dev Drives, Microsoft added another known issue in build 26052. It is not as severe as the one wiping data or partitions, but the bug was responsible for crashing the Settings app.

A Display Connection section is incorrectly showing up under Settings > System > Display > Graphics that when clicked, will crash Settings. This section will be removed in a future flight.

In addition to the above mentioned bugs, Build 26052 comes up with a number of minor yet pretty annoying bugs, such as frequent black screens, green screen of deaths, etc. We do not recommend you to use this Build.
