OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. When you purchase a PC, the vendor or the original manufacturer records some important data, such as manufacturer name, support phone number, support website, Logo and some other information. But, if you assemble and make your own devices, then you can edit the OEM information.
In this article, I will show you how to edit the OEM information in Windows 11.
Where to find OEM In Windows 11?
- To find your OEM information, open Windows menu, go to Settings.
- In the left panel, click on System
- In the right panel, scroll down and click on About
- In the right panel, check the Support.
Steps To Customize OEM Support Information in Windows 11
1. Press Win+R to launch Run window. Type regedit and hit Enter to open Registry Editor.
2. Navigate to the following location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation
3. Now do among steps 4,5,6 and 7 based on your requirements,
4. Add, Remove, or Customize Manufacturer
This field contains the name of the manufacturer with a maximum length of 256 characters. If you want to modify the name, then double tap on the Manufacturer string, located in the right panel. Now enter the name of your choice under the Value Data. Click OK.
5. Add, Remove, or Customize Phone
This field contains phone number with a maximum length of 256 characters. If you want to modify the phone number, then double tap on the SupportPhone string, located in the right panel. Now enter the desired phone number under the Value Data.
If this SupportPhone field may not always exist. In that case, you have to create it. To create this string, right click on the SupportPhone string value, click/tap on Delete, click/tap on Yes when prompted to confirm.
6. Add, Remove, or Customize Hours
This field contains phone number with a maximum length of 256 characters. If you want to modify the value, then double tap on the SupportHours string, located in the right panel. Now enter the required value under the Value Data.
7. Add, Remove, or Customize Website
This field contains website URL of the OEM. If you want to modify the website, then double tap on the SupportURL string, located in the right panel. Now enter the required website under the Value Data.
8. Close Registry Editor.
