People with visual impairment and dimmed vision often face such situations and hence Nokia comes up with a solution application. Nokia Pocket Magnifier lets you use the mobile phone as a magnifying glass. The app magnifies up to 4 times, applies a number of filters and activates flashlight to improve readability and clarity.
This app is developed in cooperation with the Royal National Institute of Blind people (RNIB). The magnifier application uses camera of the phone to enhance text, pause, and use the LED as for light and more. You can also freeze viewfinder for better viewing and view saved images in a gallery. To use this app, pinch to zoom in an out the view. Tap to focus. The app is 5 Mb size and is exclusively for Windows 8 and 8.1 Lumia series of Nokia. Overall this app is receiving good response and since it is free, it’s a must try.
