Windows 10 has been criticized by many whereas loved by many. But as we know all good tings come to an end, similar happened with Windows 10. Windows 10, which is now free for users with genuine Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 will no longer be free for long. Microsoft published a post in its Windows blog mentioning that the happy times of getting free Windows 10 upgrades are ending very soon, by July 29, 2016.

“The free upgrade offer to Windows 10 was a first for Microsoft, helping people upgrade faster than ever before. And time is running out,” announced Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Windows and Devices Group. He added, “The free upgrade offer will end on July 29 and we want to make sure you don’t miss out. After July 29th, you’ll be able to continue to get Windows 10 on a new device, or purchase a full version of Windows 10 Home for $119.”

Users who are upgrading from professional versions of Windows 7.8 and 8.1 to ‘Windows 10 Pro’ will no more receive any free upgrades. The retail price for Windows 10 Pro will be $199.  One change that will be made in the new update is that Microsoft will no longer try to convince users to take Windows 10. Thus they will stop the ‘Get Windows 10’ Notifications that had annoyed so many users.  However, the Redmond based tech giant will not start charging you even after the July 29th 2016 as long your copy of Windows 10 is activated.
