How To Enable or Disable Screen Edge Swipe in Windows 11?

You can swipe in from the screen edge of a touchscreen device running Windows 11 to access the system UI below. You may access the Notification Center by pressing Win+N and swiping in from the right edge of your screen. To open widgets, press the Win key plus W and swipe in from the left edge of your screen. In Windows 11, you may use this tutorial to learn how to make screen edge swipe available to all users or not. 

If you want to enable or disable screen edge swipe, you must be logged in as an administrator.

Enable or Disable Screen Edge Swipe in Local Group Policy Editor:

Please note that the local group policy editor is available only in Windows 11 Pro, Education and Enterprise editions. The rest of the users can go through option two, i.e. using the registry editor.

  • Press the “Windows + R” keys simultaneously to open the run dialog box. Type “gpedit.msc” and enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
  • Navigate to the below-mentioned path,

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Edge UI

  • Double-click or tap on the “Allow edge swipe” policy in the Local Group Policy Editor’s right pane of the Edge UI to update it.
  • Select either the “Enabled” or “Disabled” radio button and then click/tap on the “Ok” button.
  • Now you can close the policy editor window.
  • Restart your system, windows explorer to see the changes.
  • You must restart your system to notice the applied changes.

You can delete the downloaded registry file(s) if they are no longer needed.
